Im not even sure exactly what a round steak is, but what about making a stir fry? slice up the meat, steam some frozen/fresh veggies, make some rice (to put the meat and veggies over) and fry up the meat and veggies in a pan with some sort of marinage, honey teryaki, soy, add some garlic and onion! I LOVE IT! (Im getting hungry now!)

This was one of my favorite meals growing up. Take the round steak, if it is not already tenderized, do so. Flour it and fry it in oil. Serve with mashed potatoes ---YUMMO!

We did the same as the above post but we rolled it in corn flakes and fried in oil... yummy
I also use round steak for fajita's... The girls love them..

Sometimes I'll sprinkle onion soup mix on these and wrap in foil and bake.

Swiss Steak
so glad you asked about round steak. I havent mad this recipe for so long and it is so good.
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut into small pieces
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 carrots, chopped about one inch pieces
2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Lightly coat the round steak pieces in the flour mixture.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, and saute the celery, onion, and carrots about 5 minutes, until tender. Remove from heat, and set aside. Mix in the round steak pieces, and cook until lightly browned.
Place the vegetables and steak in a slow cooker. Mix in the tomatoes with juice, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
Cover, and cook 8 to 10 hours on Low, until the round steak is very tender.
**Ony thing I do different is I put the carrots in at the last hour, but that is just me, I do not like mushy carrots.

I loved that growing up too except after frying it up my parents would put it in a crockpot and let it cook on low all day with gravy.OH SO GOOD!

Here's what my mom does.... Cut it into small steak sized pieces, brown sides in a frying pan, put browned pieces into a baking dish with a can of cream of mushroom soup (you can use a little milk or water to thin out the soup a little if you want, not necessary though) bake @350 for an hour. The mushroom soup makes the steaks really tender and makes a nice gravy. We normally have it with mashed potatoes, but a lot of different sides work.
