I love to cook, can make just about anything.. simple to extravagant.... EXCEPT no-bake cookies..

My family and friends have harrassed me for years.. I swore it was the recipe.. It couldn't be me could it?

Well tonight I decided I was going to try again.. I only attempted a single batch (not 4 like my mom does) just in case they didn't turn out...

TA DA they did... They are wonderful... So I made another batch.. They turned out too.. Maybe the curse has been lifted...

Of course I called my mom, both sisters and my gf the home ec teacher! WOO HOO!

So tell me is there something that you can not get to turn out? Tell me I am not the only one with this problem...

You are not alone with those cookies.I had the hardest time making them too.I found out with my recipe I was putting to many oats and not enough liquid so ajusting it made it work out great!

Glad you conquired(SP?) it.....A good feeling isn't it?

My problem is brownies but I think that is my own fault.I always thing they are not done and keep on cooking and they get dried out. Some people say I need to just take them out when they say to and not worry about it!I know I should too

Congrats on the No Bakes!!!!!!!

and absolutely do NOT feel alone....we've all had our hurdles to get over...for the longest time mine was GRAVY......ugh.....I grew up watching my Grandma make it w/flour....I tried for years and it was just pasty.......then I discovered CORNSTARCH.....hallelujah

and RyansMom...I had to laugh about the brownies........those are one of those things that you have to go against everything you know about baking...especially for the fudgy ones....ya have to watch the outside edges instead of the center...cause the middle always looks kinda raw........but now you have me in the modd for brownies!!!

I have had my hit and misses with the nobakes. Either to dry, or too sticky. You have to get the quantities exact on those. Plus the boiling time needs to be exact too. I believe it is 3 minutes. And I don't think all the recipes are the same. I had the Hersheys one, and I don't think I ever messed up on it. But I can't find it now.

They are coco powder, sugar, milk & butter cooked in a sauce pan, then you melt in peanut butter and stir into rolled oats. Drop by spoonful, let sit till firm.

YUMMY!

I have a cookbook that calls these cookies dinosaur food, I say they look more like dinosaur droppings Not had a hard time making them!

For brownies someone once suggested NOT preheating them and add chocolate Hershey Syrup just keep an eye on them i still go over the alloted time but they are always good since I started doing it that way!

No bake cookies are definitely the thing I cannot make. I used to work in a deli/bakery and I could never get them to turn out. I may have to try again if it is working for you now, lol.
