Maleesa

her DH ~ Rick

her Kids ~

her Kitchen ~

*more pictures below*
Name: Maleesa

Family Members: Husband Rick,Maleesa,Son Dakota,Son Ryan.

State: Michigan

Favorite Drink? Diet Coke with Lime.

Favorite Vegetable? Fresh Steamed Asparagus with butter and salt.

Favorite Dessert? Tiramisu

If I had to eat the same thing for the rest of my life it would be: Anything Mexican.

Weirdest thing you ever ate? Frog Legs(Didn't like them).

I didn't think I'd like ____, but I did! Venison Ribs Cooked with Corn Beef Brisket.

Baking or Cooking? Cooking.

I seem to always add this ingredient: Fresh Garlic to EVERYTHING.

Kitchen Gadget/Utensil/Appliance I could not live without: I have two. White Plastic Cooking Spoons & Crockpot.

I enjoy being in the kitchen because: I love cooking for people & it is so calming for me.

If my kitchen could talk it would say “this” about me: I asked my kid to help me with this one and this is what they said .Dakota "You keep me clean",Ryan "Your a great cook".

I learned everything I know about cooking from: Experience & Hands on Training.

What I try to teach my kids about cooking: I asked the kids to help with this one too .Dakota says "Wash your hands before cooking".Ryan "Wear oven mitts so you don't burn your hands".I would say I teach them that you cook with love and love to do it for people. Also so they don't have to depend on anyone to cook for them since they will know how. When they were younger it was to learn there numbers by measuring things.

Funniest cooking story: When I was around 11 I went across the street and got a "Texas Sheet Cake" recipe from my Grandma and made it.It turned out so bad I could not get it out of the pan so I tossed the pan and cake into the garbage. My Grandma came over to see how it turned out and I did not get the pan out of the house in time to hide it and she saw it.She tells everyone that story. It is one I will never live down!

My family LOVES it when I cook this: Homemade Spaghetti & Meatballs and Garlic Bread.

Family Favorite Recipe:

Maleesa's Meatballs-

1 1/2 pound of ground meat. Meatloaf mix(1/3 of each beef, veal and pork)Works best other wise 1/2 beef and 1/2 pork.

Salt,
pepper,
LOTS of Italian Seasoning(2-3 Tablespoons),
LOT'S of fresh garlic minced,
2 eggs,
unseasoned bread crumbs,
Olive Oil,
Vegetable Oil.

Mix meat,Seasonings and eggs in a bowl.Add enough bread crumbs(as you mix by hand)until eggs are soaked in and the meat isn't so wet.

Heat a frying pan(Medium)with enough oil(60% Olive Oil,40% Vegetable Oil)to cover the bottom. Shape the meatballs with your hand so they are firm and round,Any size you like really but about 1 1/2 inches works best for me.Fry till they are browned and then add them to sauce and let simmer for awhile.

I vary it some times and put fresh grated Romano and parmesan in the meat, spritz of red wine or a little sauce.MMM so good!

I am adding in a few pictures. One of the kids helping make something,3 of my kitchen and where I cook at!One of my Husband and one of me.Enjoy!!!

**Disclaimer**
MS Dish of the week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Dish of the week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. This is done so you can be contacted, informed of your feature date, and arrange to send a picture along with the included survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If the survey is not received back from you before your “feature” date, the next member will be randomly selected and we will come back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Kellynkay or Ryans_mom10 and we will get you signed up.

Thanks for sharing your story, Malessa! I love garlic in everything too. There's no such things as too much garlic!
