Next Friday I'm making a lunch for around 10 adults and around 7 kids. I was going to make a chili recipe that WE LOVE but found out that one of the guys doesn't do well with eating beans. So....there went that idea. Looking for something YUMMY and CHEAP. Also, something that could be made ahead and warmed up when the time comes would be great. Don't want to spend lots of time in the kitchen. Last year we made sloppy joes and french fries but it took a long time.

Ideas are welcome. Thanks!!!

You could make baked spaghetti and just heat it in the oven later. And you could serve w/garlic bread and salad.

You can't please everyone. If it's just the beans save part of the chili without beans in a crock pot. Chili sounds like a really good idea.

Good Luck

Make up your big pot of chili. When it's time to add the beans, split it into 2 pots. Add beans to one. Then you have one batch with beans, one batch without. I hate chili beans but just eat around them if I'm at someone's house. I do this method for the vegetarians in the family. It's not hard. Or, just make your whole chili beanless (you can add cooked lentils to thicken it a bit).

I agree.

Go with the chili. Make a ton of baked potatoes so people can put the chili onto them if they want. Maybe have a platter of other potato toppings that people can use, too. Many of those same toppings can go onto the chili as well: chedder cheese, sour cream, etc.

I would stick with the chili..........just cut the batch down and make a pot of something else...potato or broocoli and cheese......and rolls and voila!

Soups and such are one of the cheapest AND easiest ways to feed a large crowd...Id dtick with that routs just add an option.

I agree with the other posters and making 2 batches of chili. I love the idea of a potato bar with all sorts of toppings! Have fun, let us know how it turns out
