DD is having a thanksgiving pary at school and I need to bring a dessert. I was thinking of little pumpkin pies, just by cutting the pastry small with a round cutter, putting it in a tart dish then put the pie filling in. I know that it would take less to cook...

Do you think that this would turn out ok?

Thanks!

I think that's a great idea, and I'm sure they'll turn out well! My aunt did mini pies last year for our Thanksgiving, both pumpkin and pecan, and we all devoured them--especially the kids. I think it's because they were like finger food, so we kind of snacked on them through the evening while playing games & such. She used a round cutter and actually put the crust into mini muffin tins then filled them and baked.

I am sure they would turn out fine!

Here's how I would bake em....

I would do them ant 350-375 for about 20-30 min.

This would of course depend on your oven so I would start watching at about 18 min...but will prob take closer to 30.

I often make mini pies in the muffin tins with leftover crust & filling - for pumpkin pies, cream cheese pies, etc. They are always a hit!
