I have enough turkey to feed an army! I bought two turkeys the other day at my store because they were on sale; Honeysuckle 16 lbs each for $4.99 a piece. That is always the best price I can get turkeys for all year round. Today my husband tells me, I forgot to tell you last week not to buy a turkey. I ask why, oh my boss is buying everyone a turkey for a Thanksgiving bonus. So I have that one coming next week. Than, last week while I was at the WIC office doing my monthly thing there, the gal has me sign up for a Thanksgiving and Christmas basket. I have to go back on the 20th for my Thanksgiving basket. I was too embarassed to ask what was in the basket, but I am assuming that it will be another turkey!!! Needless to say, I am cooking a turkey this weekend, just to cook, bag up and freeze. Not a big deal. I just think it is a little funny. I know it will all get eaten, so it is a really good thing.

sure its a good thing ...we usually like to do another turker in the end of winter or sometimes deep fry one in the summer.

Its always good to have 1 on hand for a tight budget week also.

I love stocking up on 2 or 3 turkeys for the freezer. They keep for a long time.

I do one at new years eve and either freeze some of the meat or plan a week of meal idea's with it.

I do one every other month and it works out great. If there is cooked meat left over just put it in baggies and freeze it for the next week.

How awesome you are blessed!

Smells like Thanksgiving! Just finished be-doning and bagging up one of my many turkeys. It looks like I will get at least five meals out of it. I wish I would have been more on the ball (and had some money) to throw the meat into some casseroles to freeze. But just having the meat cooked already, will save lots of time in the kitchen. So now I have one in the freezer and two on the way next week. Think I will have to cook up another one the first of next month and do the same thing.
