I don't know what happened to this 1/2 gallon of milk in my fridge, but it has soured well before the sell by date. With milk being so costly nowadays, I hate to throw it out. Is there anything that can be done to make milk unsoured? I thought I read somewhere that putting a pinch of salt in the milk would unsour it, but I can't find that information anywhere.

I don;t have an answer for you, just a suggestion that you return it to the store. There is no way it should go bad b/4 the date....Sorry if I am stating the obvious...

I would look for recipes that call for sour milk or buttermilk. I think I posted a recipe on here for banana cake that calls for buttermilk. I believe that recipe calls for 1 cup of milk. Hope you can find some other uses for your sour milk.
