We usually use "real" whipped cream (with heavy cream & sugar).

1/2 c heavy cream
1/2 c sour cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix all and beat w/hand mixer to stiff, not grainy, peaks. Chill til using.

You can make this about 5 hours before ready to use.....it holds up great!!!

Definately real whipped cream...

I'm not a fan of ice cream personally but many of our family members are and esp like cinnamon ice cream for apple or pumpkin pie.

You needed an option for all of the above. Me and my children love Rediwhip. But I usually just get it when it goes on sale. I thought my hubby liked it too, but I have found out that Cool Whip is his favorite. The kids like Cool Whip too, I just think they love to sneak and spray the Redi Whip directly into thier mouths.
I love real whip cream, but usually only treat myself to this around the holidays.
I stock up on coolwhip for recipes that I need to use it in.
And apple pie must have vanilla icecream.
I think I voted Redi whip because it is easy, and so yummy.
