I have a tub of sour cream, that never was opened but it's past the expiry date...do you think I could still use it or is it not good anymore? Thanks.

Depeds on how long past the date we are talking. I find that some items (yogurt), if kept in the back and coldest part of the fridge, are good for maybe a week beyond their date. You can also do the "sniff' test to see if it smells sour...

Chances are it is still good. But once you do open it, I would use it up quickly. Mix it in with mashed potatoes, find a stroganoff recipe, baked potatoes. You could use it up before it does go bad.

It is probably still good. Open it up and smell it. Use it right away. Bake it in something. Make muffins, or a cake and you can use it in place of the milk or water. Even pancake batter.

I would open it and if it smells good, use it.
