State: Indiana

Favorite Drink? chardonnay

Favorite Vegetable? potatoes, I love them!

Favorite Dessert? pumpkin cheesecake

If I had to eat the same thing for the rest of my life it would be: pasta or quesadillas!

Weirdest thing you ever ate? escargot, too chewy for me!

I didn't think I'd like buffalo burgers, but I did!

Baking or Cooking? Cooking

I seem to always add this ingredient: pepper and onion

Kitchen Gadget/Utensil/Appliance I couldn’t live without: Cuisinart Griddler- it makes the best panini's.

I enjoy being in the kitchen because: I really enjoy cooking for my family and trying new recipes.

If my kitchen could talk it would say “this” about me: It's the heart of the home.

I learned everything I know about cooking from: cookbooks and waitressing in a fine dining restaurant for 15 years. I was able to try so many great foods and wines!

What I try to teach my kids about cooking: To have fun, and to clean up as you go!
My family LOVES it when I cook this: Homemade salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy.

Family Favorite Recipe:
Salisbury Steak:
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 6oz. package stove top stuffing (chicken flav.)
1 1/2 cups water,divided
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 pkg (8 oz.) fresh mushrooms sliced, or 1 jar drained
1 jar of beef gravy

Preheat oven to 375. Mix meat, stuffing mix, 1 1/4 cups of the water and the onions until well blended. Shape into 6 1/2 inch thick oval patties. Place in a baking dish.
Bake 25 min. or untill cooked through.

Meanwhile, spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add mushrooms; cook on med-high heat 5 min. or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Add gravy and remaining 1/4 cup of water. Reduce heat to low. Cook 1-2 minutes or until sauce is heated through. Serve over patties and mashed potatoes

**Disclaimer**
MS Dish of the week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Dish of the week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. This is done so you can be contacted, informed of your feature date, and arrange to send a picture along with the included survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If the survey is not received back from you before your “feature” date, the next member will be randomly selected and we will come back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Kellynkay or Ryans_mom10 and we will get you signed up.
