THANKS

I'm interested too. I got one from freecycle, and I have trouble getting my birds to fit. When it's turning, the legs rub the bottom pan and get stuck.

The only thing I can suggest is tying the legs to the bird so they don't hang... Otherwise the birds too big for the rotisserie... JMO

Yup....Showtime rotisserie here..(contain your shock!!!)

they show alot of things you can do with it but I mainly do chicken(my husband screams if I do my chicken other than in this)

and porkloins!!!

If you havent done a pork loin yet...I highly recommend it!!!

1/4 c soy sauce
1/4 c packed brown sugar
2 Tbs sherry (what no sherry???Thats ok-use balsamic vinegar )
2 Tbs minced onion
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbs olive oil
1/8 tsp garlic powder

Mix all in a ziploc bag...shake really well...toss in porkloin and marinate a good 8-12 hours.

I am big on visual so before I thread mine onto the skewers I score the entire thing(in the diamond shape)It looks gorgous when done......

Then just rotisserie til its good and brown.......yum!!!

and I know some people are weird about this but I totally boil my marinade and thicken w/water+cornstarch...yummy!!!

ps I usually use a good thick loin or a center cut roast!

I have one and love it.I tie them up with the rubber band things it came with.I run them in the dishwasher a couple times to clean them and use them again so I don't have to buy more.

I have a Ronco-set it and forget it. I have only ever done whole chickens in them. But I must admit after doing my chickens in the crock pot (recipe from M2M), I will not do it in the rotiserre any time soon. I have just never bothered to try anything else in it. I like the looks of the pork loin recipe. Might have to give it a try.

Mine is a Showtime, "Set it, and forget it" one too!! LOVE IT!!

Came with kabob rods, spit rods (for turkeys, chicken and such), and a basket, which I've used for many things.

In the basket I've made: chicken breasts, chicken legs, shrimp, hamburgers, pork chops, even steaks...

On the spit rods I've made: A turkey breast that turned out GORGEOUS (all browned on the outside!!), whole chickens...never tried a pork loin, but that sounds like it would be great!!

As for recipes, my unit came with a recipe book with about 15 recipes in it - but I've never tried any of them. I like to inject my "yardbird" with a melted butter/garlic/onion powder mix, and then do a rub of assorted spices on the outside as well. (Especially lots of SAGE!! Love sage on poultry!!) And for the shrimp I've used an olive oil and spices marinade - or butter - including minced garlic, lemon juice, and Old Bay!! YUM!!

Steaks are always the same: Toss around in Dales Steak Seasoning for a bit and that's IT!! (Doesn't take long!! It's a highly concentrated liquid.) Find it in the BBQ sauce aisle. AWESOME STUFF!! HIGHLY recommend it!!

I have a question though. I've used up all my ties, but the instruction book says I can also use "string". Does that mean I can use any old string? Or does it have to be a special kind of string? TIA...

Good luck on whatever you cook!! Let us know how it turns out!!
