I make mine in the oven, shoulder (and rump) roast take longer to cook than other roast. I put mine in a roasting pan, pour a can of warm coke over it, season with garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt and cover. About an hour before I am ready to eat I put a package of saurqraute in there, juice and all. When time to eat I scoop the qrout off and then cut the meat into serving portions and put on top. It looks nice to serve..

If you dont't like that..

You can cook like a pot roast using potatoes, carrotts and onions,

Or pour a can of golden mushroom or creamy chicken soup over it.. It makes a nice gravey.. Just mash some potatoes to go along with it.

you can also make pulled pork sandwiches. just cook the pork in a crock pot for about 8 hours on high, i throw some salt and pepper in and about 1/2 can of coke. when it's done, shred it, pour in 1 bottle of your favorite bbq sauce and eat on a bun. these are great and easy to make. i stock up on pork roast when they hit $1/lb. here in MT. Good luck!
