I love to make veggie soup. It lasts for days and is usually gobbled up before I can freeze any. I cook mine for 24 hours+ in the crock pot on low. I brown stew meat and then add it to tomato puree with veggies & potatoes. I chop potatoes but the rest of the vegetables are usually frozen. I season it with garlic, onion, oregano & pepper.

I made vegetable soup for dinner tonight! Your recipe sounds similar to mine. I cook the hamburger and onion first, drain, then add the veggies. I used canned veggies, some diced potatoes, celery, and a can of tomato soup, and some canned tomatoes. Then add the spices.

I ususally just throw whatever I have available in there (most often frozen veggie leftovers). I usually leftover roast, steak or hamburger, and also add a little barley to make it a little thicker
