We do only pure. It IS expensive at the grocery store. We buy ours at Trader Joes, where it's a lot more reasonable. We don't do the other stuff because we are trying to avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup (bad stuff!), their main ingredient, and artificial colorings, wherever we can.

It's mainly the sweet, sticky syrup at our house, my kids and dh don't care for maple syrup, I grew using both kinds and also using honey because we had bees. They also like to use jam or jelly if we are out of syrup.

Pure maple only. Used to buy the 'other' stuff but then switched totally to pure. Have you read the ingredients on the 'other' stuff? Its not even maple.. or syrup! Its high fructose corn syrup and some other icky stuff not meant for human consumption.

Trader Joes does have a good one, that is reasonabley priced.

Wish we had a Trader Joes in my area! The closest one is 1 1/2 hrs away. I'm not driving that far with kids in tow.

I agree with not buying high fructose corn syrup items. I can honestly say I have nothing with that ingredient in my house

I just bought a bottle of pure maple syrup the other day at Whole Foods. I am trying to get rid of stuff with the high fructose corn syrup. I even bought organic Ketchup because of the high fructose corn syrup in the regular ketchup.

I only eat the pure real stuff! I can't stomach the other stuff. My kids on the other hand will eat both so they usually get the store brand lite stuff. The cost of real is outrageous and we would be spending a fortune in it. we like to get it from the local people here who make it here.

I buy store brand organics for that reason. Jelly, applesauce, etc. I wish I had the resources to make all of it from scratch but it is cost prohibitive.

The ingredient lists for the "fake" stuff are scary! I get the big container of Pure Maple Syrup at TJ's too.
