Question Help with cake mix

Help. Can I use a cake mix that has a "best if used" date of 10/2007? Would you do it?

I'm obsessive about expiration dates. I wouldn't use it, but it's probably OK.

I just made up one of those single serve pkgs today for the kids that exp'd 6/07....no complaints. Tasted fine.

"Best if used by" means that you can use it past the date, it just might not be the best quality. "Expires on" means you shouldn't use it.
A cake mix would be fine, but something more perishable, like lunch meat, you would throw out, unless you had it in the freezer.
