What kind of snacks do you make for your family? I usually give my DD some fruit or graham crackers but I would like some ideas for healthy, homemade snacks.

Fruit and veggies are a major thing for snacks. Smoothie's (homemade), yougurt.. and my son LOVES puffins and cheerios and Kashi cereals with no milk in a snack bowl (he 4 1/2 now). And will still not eat milk in the cereal. Right now I can't think of anything else age appropriate for your little DD.

my baby loves fruit like grapes, mandarin oranges, bananas, crackers, cheese, raisins, buts of tortilla. you could make quesadillas, or cracker sandwiches.

Lately I've been having trouble thinking of snacks for me. I've been eating a lot of toast with peanut butter.

At that age my girls mostly snacked on cherrios, shredded cheese, raisins, goldfish ect..

but if I made something it was cheese quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches, mac n cheese

homemade lunchables were/are a big hit:
cut up deli meat, cheese, crackers
crackers, raisins and peanut butter
crackers, shredded cheese, pizza sauce and ham

I just dehydrated a bunch of bananas and apples (they were on sale) and that way I can have these for snacks on the go.

Just depends on how much work you want to put into it and what your kids like...my kids eat a variety of things for snacks, just depends on what they're in the mood for.

Fresh Fruit & Veggies
Yogurt
Cheese (with or without crackers)
Rice Cakes/Crackers with PB
Quesadilla
Sandwiches
Cereal
Popcorn
Bagel/English Muffin/Muffin etc

Our snacks are almost always fresh fruit and veggies. We LOVE bananas, grapes, and apples. Apples or celery with peanut butter is great for a little extra protein boost. We have cheese and crackers too. I like to keep a veggie tray with green and yellow peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, celery and ranch dressing for dipping. I also will make up a tray with slices of deli ham and/or turkey rolled up, chunks of cheese, and crackers. I make up a lot so it's ready to go whenever and it will last us several days.

Do you have a food dehydrator or is there a way to do this with the oven? Now that I am becoming a SAHM I'm trying to come up with some new ideas and she's getting older so I want to expose her to new textures and varieties.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

I am big on making breads. I just made banana bread. We also like amish friendship bread. I make them into muffins most of the time. The kids really enjoy those. They are pretty healthy too. I made mine with whole wheat flour.
