Ever since I took this job and started working nights, dh has had to cook way more than he ever has. Before his idea of cooking was dumping a can of Chef Boyardee and nuking it in the microwave. He is ruining my pots and pans with his cooking. He burns darn near everything! Than I have to soak pans overnight and scrub on them the next day before I can even put them in the dishwasher. Just last week, he melted the plastic lid from my NEW cake pan. He did not check the oven before he turned it on to see if there was anything in it. I have always used the oven to hold extra pots and pans. He knows this! I got him two boxes of BC Complete meals, I cant wait to see what he does with those.
At least he is trying. If he actually had it his way, he would just order pizza or take the kids to McDonalds every time I worked late.

Too funny . My DH can actually cook when he sets his mind to it. He is usually the one to make most of Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Eve Appetizers, etc... However ~ if he were in the same situation as your DH the kids would most likely get PB&J, or grilled cheese (I would say Take-out, but it's too far away )

My Dh views on food and mine are worlds apart..

I eat because I love food

He eats because you have too...

I eat large quantities

he eats like a bird...

So with that said, he has VERY limited cooking skills.. This is what he makes

pb&j (everyday for his lunch)
mac & cheese (out of the blue box)
hot dogs (in the microwave)
fried eggs over hard..

I have tried to explaine that it's easy to use the George or the grill.. But he doesn't. Most men look forward to 'grilling' not mine.. He's not a picky eatter he just doesn't eat much. He tries all my crazy recipies and doesn't complain.

I would suggest to save your pots and pans and cake lids using a crockpot

My dh is good on the grill but regular cooking not so much!

Before my husband and I met, he lived off frozen soft pretzels, hot dogs, pizza, pepsi, etc. I don't think he actually cooked anything.

When he does try, he burns things because he doesn't pay attention. He goes off to something else and forgets about the food.

His specialty is pancakes. He even burned those last week.

I don't know how to weld, he doesn't know how to cook.

I guess I have to say my DH is a really good cook, and he has no problem doing it...when he's home (which isn't a whole lot these days with work and school) but when he does cook he does a great job, and then of course grilling is his specialty

I actually tease my husband about his "crunchy"eggs......(gag-don't ask) but he can make a few good things....but he needs to stay in the realm of basics....grilled cheese....french fries...burgers...my husband is basically best at "baking"...ya know take something frozen then toss in the oven

Ok m2m let's share gag stories..

I was 8 months pregnant with dd 1 and dh made mac & cheese out of the blue box for dinner.. We sat down and I noticed some black flecks in it.. Figured he put pepper in it, no big deal... After the first bite, I asked him if he put pepper in.. NOPE so I asked what the black specks were.. He said I got the little strainer out of the dishwasher...... I didn't hear anything else I ran to the bathroom you guessed it I was puckin and he was like what, what, inbetween bites of his fish poop laced mac & cheese... I had cleaned the fishtank out and ONLY use the little yellow strainer for that job..

So with that told come on what is the crunchy egg story?

My dh is an awesome cook, I guess because he was in his 20 and living my himself before he married the first time and then he was divorced 4 years before he meet me.

The only complaint that i have is that he likes everything hot, like hot peppers hot!
