I have a bread machine that my mother gave me, but it doesn't come with a manual and the one time I tried to make bread the middle was still gooey (very gooey) and the outside way too done.. And all the recipes I'm finding say add ingredients to your bread machine's manual. Well, I can't find the manual on the NET either. So how exactly should I add the ingredients?

I really want to make my own bread, but I am a little discouraged.

TIA

You're going to have to just play with it! For mine, I usually put water, flour, salt and yeast last. Anything extra usually goes in between the flour and yeast part. Unless it is extra liquid and that goes in after the water.

From what I've read most bread machines use that route but I have seen, at least in my cookbooks, that there can be reversed.

I hope this makes sense.

That stinks What kind of bread machine do you have? Have you tried contacting the company to send a new one?

MommyMercedes: I tried googling it by the model number, by the brand, and by just the name. It's probably 10 years old at least.

Sheila: I have a westbend perfect timing and bread and dough maker..41026.... Oh please tell me you have this one?

I'm going to try melsb and mommymercedes method of adding ingredients.. And pray it works...

Don't worry! Remember it is just bread! I had to toss a loaf out the other day because I was talking on the phone, while mixing, and put too much flour in!

Just try a simple recipe and go from there.

Good luck!
