I very much don't like to cook. My kids know this and have learned to get their own breakfast, lunch (when not at school) and snacks. But now they just eat whenever they feel like it.

I would like to have eating at certain times to avoid the continuous mess in the kitchen and to have more control on what they are eating. But old habits are hard to change AND so is my lack of desire for cooking.

does anyone else have this problem? I guess I need to learn to like it and maybe some simple but healthy meals.

Any suggestions?

Me! I don't like cooking either! But I do it anyway. I just don't enjoy it. I just try and keep things simple. Dessert in our house is fruit and frozen yogurt. We have a very simple menu which doesn't have a whole lot of variety. My ds (age 9) loves cooking so I hope he takes over the kitchen soon.

I DON'T LIKE TO COOK!!! My husband used to do all of the cooking until he started taking night classes. To make meal planning easier for me, I precook most of the meats and freeze them. When I have to make a meal, I just heat up the meat and it doesn't take as much time. I also cut most of our fruits and veggies before I put them in the fridge to save time. My family is more likely to eat them if they are already prepared. My favorite meals are quick and easy. It takes me some prep time before, but it makes meal times much easier.

I don't really like it much either, but I do it out of necessity.

ME!!!! I don't like cooking, not one little bit. But I do it because I must. Not a huge variety in terms of a menu either which gets a lot of a complaining from oldest DS ( 13 ) But, I do LOVE to bake.

I HATE to cook! Lucky for me though, dh loves cooking. Says it relaxes him, helps melt away the stress of the day. So our household deal is that I do all the cleaning, he does all the cooking. All the cleaning may sound like a lot, but trust me, its worth it to stay away from the stove! The most cooking I ever have to do now is eggs for breakfast for ds on the weekends. Woo hoo!

I HATE to cook! However, my lack of kitchen skills has come in handy -- my oven hasn't worked in 3 months and we haven't had to race out and buy a new one! We will buy a new one eventually, but since I'm no chef, it's not a priority.

I'm a bad mommy -- most of the stuff I cook (if you want to call it that) comes in a box or bag where I can throw it in the microwave, toss it on the stove (which still works), or dump it in a crock pot. To me, cooking is a chore, not a pleasure.

I just hate the cleaning. If I had a maid to go behind me, I would be set. Also, I have an OLD kitchen that isnt fabulous for cooking in.

I have only been cooking for 4 years now and I have gotten much better at it... I was BAAAD.

I was reading all the replies and thinking I love to cook!Wish you all lived closer I would cook for you and have you over for dinner.Now you all are goin to think I am nuts for loving to cook right?
