I have a ton of butter in my fridge that I had bought on sale over the last few weeks. I plan on using the bulk of it when artichokes come in season, but until then, can I freeze it? If so, should I place the packages in freezer bgs? Or how should I do it?
I do the same thing, I just keep it in the box and stick it in the freezer. You thaw it just like anything else. We use a lot of butter, when I notice we're down to one stick, I take a frozen box from the freezer, and stick it in the fridge...by the time I need it, it's all thawed. It really doesn't take long.

I also freeze mine. I use the butter for baking mostly. If I need it right away I wil put it in the microwave and thaw it that way. You need to be careful and not cook it to long or it will start to melt.
Cool! Thanks!
I love to have lots of butter in the house but I was always scared that it would go bad. Now that I know that you can freeze it , I will keep more on hand!
