I love cooking but really hate menu planning. My DH has "given up" eating pork and shrimp lately and is allergic to all kinds of fowl including chicken and turkey so I'm totally out of ideas. It makes me crazy when he says make whatever you want. I haven't planned ahead in weeks and my budget shows it.

Same thing in our house, since I have switched to the menu planner, I don't ask as much anymore.

Me too! I just started a thing where dd gets to pick a meal or 2 a wk. My dh gets to pick too but he hasn't told me of anything he wants yet. It makes it fun for dd and thats a couple of meals that I don't have to decide on.

When I posted on Wednesday I vented to my DH, who BTW doesn't cook, that I was out of menu ideas and feeling very overwhelmed by the prospect of planning. He asked how he could help and I asked him to plan a few meals. He started pulling recipes from my box then called me at work very proud of what was accomplished. I told him the next step was for him to make a list of all the ingredients in the recipes, plan the side dishes to go with each recipe then take the list to the pantry and cross off what we already had on hand. It's Friday and the recipes are still in a neat stack. No list, no plan and no groceries. See it's not so easy. Think I can rub it in
