I am not sure this is the right place for this but as you all know I am moving in a little more than a couple weeks. I need some help with a grocery list. I know what foods to get that I like and that noah likes but I need some help on making sure I get all the staples covered. Like flour and sugar and stuff like that I think I got everything but it doesnt seem like I did. Please help lol. You can also give me other ideas for food if you want. Thanks in advance!

ok...clarify for me a little...what exactly are you making a list for???
General staples??

Are you basically looking to restock for the new house???

Some general staples I would get are:

flour and sugar(which you already have)
I would also add to that:
brown and powdered sugar
baking soda
baking powder
cornstarch
cocoa powder
peanut butter
(ya know the basic baking supplies-outside of spices)

for general cooking-
a variety of cream soups
pastas(and sauces)
rice
tomato sauce/paste
lipton onion soup mix
bisquick
canned veggies
dry mixes(taco seasonings etc if you use them)

I'll cut the list short for now until you let me know if I'm on the right track or if its something else your lookin for

If it were me, I'd probably just be VERY diligent with making my menu in the beginning. Purchase the foods you need for the meals you're making. If you decide you want to make fried chicken and need flour then get the flour. If not you could wait on it.

The only thing I'd stock up on right away would probably be condiments (ketchup, ranch, etc) and maybe some mac n cheese or other quick meals in case you are too tired to make a meal from your menu.

This way you wouldn't have a HUGE grocery bill your first month, but then instead spread it out over time.

Me, personally... I have WAY too much in my pantry that I don't use. If I could start all over again from scratch I would try keeping it as bare as I can in the beginning and only buy what I will use. (but that's just me!)

HTH!!!

I made a menu already. If I wont use it or have only used it once or twice in my life then I wont get it.
