Anyone get rid of this from their diet? I am slowly trying to wean us off it....I've been reading labels and it is in almost everything. Just looking for someone that might have some ideas on ways to get rid of more of it. Thanks!

We've removed HFCS from our diet, except for the occasional treat that sneaks in It is in EVERYTHING, so be prepared to shop very differently. Read the ingredient list all the way, sometimes it is listed toward the bottom. Once you have done this for awhile, you learn which brands use it and which don't. This makes taking advantage of sales and coupons more difficult, so I just buy much less, the minimum of what I need and try to make what I can at home. (cookies, muffins, breakfast bars, pasta sauce, I'm even considering getting a breadmaker and doing my own bread, most of the "healthy" breads list HFCS, ugh!) I buy LOTS of produce and cook most meals from very basic ingredients, it's easier to keep track of what I am using. and cheaper once you get a good system down.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they are GREAT! I can pretty much get everything, including cereal bars, bread, pasta sauce, ketchup and bbq sauce without HFCS. You still need to read labels, but in general their products do not have HFCS or hydrogenated oils. TJ's is also much cheaper than a store like Whole Foods, so it fits my budget (which is super tight!)

We avoid it but like was said above, it's in everything! Making stuff from scratch is about the only way to go to completely stay away from it.

there are some things that I will eat no matter how bad it is, but I am trying not to buy products with this in it - fruit snacks and "juice" particularly. I am not trying to avoid this completely, I just want to avoid items that use this instead of good ol' sugar, or fruit juice.

Its everywhere. Im trying to not buy stuff with it as well. Founds some good bread that is all natural and does not have HFCS. I love TJ's - can always find good stuff there.
