This weeks letter is "G"...

~~~guava~grapes~ganache~gelatin~ginger~green~onion s~glazed~greek~
~green beans~guacamole~
if I know the ladies on this site....G is for G~A~R~L~I~C
~How to roast garlic~
1 head garlic
2 Tbs oil
Preheat oven to 300.Slice 1/4 in off top of garlic bulb.
Place in a small baking dish and drizzle with olive oil then wrap in foil.
Bake in preheated oven for 30-35min.
When cool enough to touch, squeeze each clove to remove garlic.
but maybe you have a thing for cheese?
How about: goat cheese ? gorgonzola ? gouda maybe??
~Gorgonzola Sauce~
3 Tbs butter
2 Tbs crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
1 green onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
pepper to taste
Over low heat, mix butter, Gorgonzola cheese, green onion, garlic and pepper.
Warm slowly for about 5 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally til the sauce is
warm n creamy.
(great on steaks or baked potatoes even)
How about you "Garbanzo" Bean fans???
~Simple Garbanzo Beans~
1 (15.5)can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1/4 onion, grated
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
5 Tbs olive oil
1/4 c frozen green peas, thawed
In a bowl, mix the garbanzo beans, onion, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt,
black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir in the olive oil, and adjust seasonings
to taste. Mix in the peas. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
Ok...let's see what we can come up with!!!
Anything from "Grandmas" to "Gourmet".
4 tsp crushed garlic
1/4 c olive oil or melted butter
1/4 c Italian bread crumbs
1/4 c parmesan cheese
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Preheat oven to 425.
Warm the garlic and olive oil or butter and let sit a few min to blend the flavors.
Mix bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
Dip the chicken breasts in the olive oil/butter and garlic mixture, then into the bread crumb mixture. Place in a shallow baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 min, til no longer pink and juices run clear. (you can also pan fry)
I also sometimes like to squeeze a fresh lemon over it,then serve w/pasta alfredo and broccoli
