I just got a mother load of these on sale w/coupons for .30 cents a bag.

I generally use them in a bread machine recipe and to thicken homemade potato soup occasionaly.

Anyone got other creative ideas???

When my grandma was alive she had alzheimers and I took care of her for a while before she needed more medical help and I would use them to thicken up soup because it was way too runny and she would spill it all over herself

There have been a couple times when I only had a few regular potatoes, so I mixed instant and regular to make enough mashed potatoes for the family.

I use them to make potato patties: I add shredded zucchini, carrot, and finely shredded onion, 1-2 beaten eggs (depending on amount), parmesan cheese and water until it can form patties. Then I lightly fry in canola oil. Ds and dh love these with sour cream and apple sauce.

I also will use them for a quick and easy shepherd's pie, when I don't have leftovers of good ones to use.

We don't like instant ones plain, so I've only ever used them in shepherd's pie. Those are good ideas, though!

That is the only kind we use.
I do not have the time or inclination to make homemade mashed potatoes.
I season them with salt, pepper & butter, and sometimes a little ranch or garlic seasoning.

I also use them for quick shepherds pie. A pound of cooked ground beef, a can of vegetable beef soup and some instant potatoes. Tada! Shepherds pie!
