I like RR and love most of her recipes. I do think it is a waste of money to buy a bowl for garbage....unless you have an old one you designate for the job. People do buy these things...i wish I could sell a garbage bowl!
RR is okay...the recipes of hers I've made have been great....
but honest to goodness....unless your trash can is nailed to the floor purchasing "THE BOWL" is rediculous!Mine travels when necessary around the kitchen or, I too,use the store bags!
I saw the bowl at the store. I thought it ridiculous, and - it's ugly!

I do admit buying the garbage bowl is silly but at the same time I will have to stop using plastic bags because I am now using recycled canvas bags. Yeah!!!Thank you mommysavers. Having a designated tub or can (or bowl) to collect the garbage is not a bad idea. If people are drawn to this bowl for appearance or nostalgia, what ever. People spend $15 on junk all the time. Thats just 3-4 coffees out. Just my thought. When it first came out it reminded me of my kitchen when I was 5 so I actually was drawn to it. I do not have one because I can not spend $15 on anything like that.
I just save all of those plastic bags you get at the grocery. I stuff them in an empty kleenex holder and keep it in the cabinet where I work. When I am cutting or chopping or opening a can I just stuff it in there and then tie it off. It keeps the onion odors or any other stink from permeating the kitchen.
I have the "garbage bowl" but mine is an orig. I got mine from my grandfather, he got it back in the 50's when his 1st wife passed away. He brought it with him when he married my grandmother and she HATED IT!!!!!
She would NEVER use it, when they both passed away I grabbed the bowl. For some reason when I was little I loved that thing. I have a large one and a small one. Just like hers and I saved $14.99 SWEET

I have an original "vintage" garbage bowl.. but i use mine for serving. My grandmother gave me it when she went into the nursing home. I compost my "garbage" and recycle the other stuff. Who would waste money on something like this.
I think it is extremely ridiculous idea- whatever happened to using your trash can for your garbage?!
But at the same time I know of several people who would waste their money on it especially if it becomes an "it" thing to have. Personally, it won't come into my house unless I get it as a present and even then I might return it as I can not stand RR!
