I was trying to wait until I found one on a garage sale, but dh said to please get one today when I went out shopping. It is our Mother's Day/Father's Day gift to each other. I can hardly wait to try it tomorrow after I read the manual. I am so excited. I think it will be nice for this summer, not heating the house up when I want to make bread.

That's great! I'm hoping to get one soon too, nothing beats the smell (and taste!) of fresh baked bread!

That's a good idea, maybe I'll start a bread machine savings too. I have been wanting one so badly (also since I read AVM), but I would like to get a nice one, from what I have heard it is worth it to pay the extra cash for a good brand (not that I know what a good brand would be, I guess I need to research ) If I saved $10/week from my babysitting money, I should be able to get one sometime in the summer.

Congrats ChickyHip!! I'm foaming at the mouth with jealousy over here, happy baking!

I got one too last week too. I got a BreadMan from Bed, Bath and Beyond with their 20% off coupon. Dh told me I should go buy myself one to try and save money since we eat a lot of bread in this house.

The bread machine I got was the $42 Sunbeam. I didn't know if I wanted to get a more expensive one, but after reading all the reviews (and I think mommy2mercedes said in a post a while back that one of hers is a Sunbeam, which in the end, sold me on this one, lol). The bread I made today didn't turn out perfectly, but it's good. I made a few mistakes after reading over and over the manual and breadmachinedigest.com I realized what I did wrong, so I am hoping the next loaf will be better. This was the first homemade bread I have EVER made, so I'm still happy with it.

I have a breadman pro and a sunbeam(from wal mart)...and yes...I have as much love for my $40 as my $100 one...

I def do NOT think this is one of those "the more expensive is better" situations....for $40 and a trip to wal mart you can have fresh baked bread in a beautiful loaf.

Chicky.......theres some great bread machine recipes on here(look in salad n sides)and its also a great time saver to use the dough cycle!
