Yes, my oldest isn't interested anymore but the other 3 will fight over the beaters.

Hayon *age 5* knows she can't lick anything if there's raw egg.. so when she sees me mixing anything, she'll ask "is there raw egg?' LOL

I had to laugh at the mashed potato post, since I thought we were the only ones that licked the potato beater. She just wants to lick them so badly, and since mashed potatoes don't have eggs, she 'gets' to. I thought it was sorta weird, but oh well

I DO LOVE that new brownie recipie posted a couple weeks ago, since there's no egg, she can lick the chocolate!!

So far my kids have great manners, but we do lick the beaters!

I don't have any children, but my fiance and I do. If I'm making something I'll take one of the beaters out to give to him in the living room. I assume when I have children they'll get to too. As long as I'm done with the beater and am not gonna use it then why not? Fun treat for the kids.

growing up my mom baked cakes for weddings, graduations and other parties.. So between May and August.. We licked a lot of beaters.. and Im still alive.. My girls have enjoyed it since they were old enough to hold and lick them selves.. I agree it's a right of passage.

In high school I drank protein shakes to gain weight 3x a day w/ 2 raw eggs in each.. No heathy problems ever..

Oh good grief...LOL! I was asked to explain my feelings on it, and I did. We're all different. If you let your kids do it and you're fine with it...great. Whatever works for you.

I personally don't consider 'licking egg beaters' as a right of passage of childhood. I sure hope my kids will be okay! If not, they can explain it to their analyst on how I ruined their childhood. LOL
