yea I totally blew it. $144 plus $23 at the pharmacy = $167

And that's only for one week! My grocery budget for this 2 week paycheck is $175, but I don't know that it's doable at the store I'm shopping at. I realized I'd spend the $ I was going to save at Aldi in gas to get there (it's 30 min away), and prices are skyrocketing at the local grocery. ($3.15 for a bag of flour! $1.12 for a can of vegetables!) I'm tapping my toes waiting for the Aldi to open 5 miles away from me in a couple weeks so I can start shopping there... it just killed me to swipe my card for $144 and not even have a full cart of groceries (at least at Aldi, it'd be overflowing!)..

I went WAY over too, $117.41 but I bought enough to last probably 3wks so I am very happy with that! I'll get some chicken breasts at sam's on Fri and we'll need milk in about a week but that's it.

I went over last week too. I was at $153, but I bought enough of the "main stuff" to hopefully last the rest of the month. I just need a few fillers each week and that will hopefully be under $50.

Smart&Final

BBQ Chips ~ 2.49
5# macaroni salad ~ 7.29
3# cream cheese ~ 7.69
3# bag apples ~ 3.99

Total for Week 3: $21.46

Girlfriend!!!! Look at those totals......you are gonna be coming in WAY under last months numbers

And everyone else.....nothing wrong with a BIG shop......if you have to do it...but prepare like you would for a week just break it down......3 weeks worth can be easy to get off track with.....it's especially important to go armed with menu ideas and a LIST....it'll REALLY help keep your fill in purchases through those weeks to a minimum.

for 3 weeks........this amount still leaves you w/extra money for fill in grocery runs...if you worked hard to limit yourself....you could still end the time frame @ $50 per week.

GREAT JOB!!!

Do you plan menus???

I challenge you to try it for one week....plan it all...breakfast,lunch,dinner and snacks.....That will save some.

Do you coupon?

GREAT JOB!!!
My menu is planned so I should be good

I went to sam's tonight, spent about $40 so I might be a tad over for a 3wk period, at about $157 total now. Oh well, my cabinets and freezer are full.

And to add, I normally spend on average $120 per week. So with the $48 last week and what I've spent this week I'm still less than half of my normal budget. I'm happy!

Starting Total for Week 3: $21.46

Vons ~ $17.02

Vons ~ $6.76

Total for Week 3: $21.46 + $17.02 + $6.76 = $45.24
