It doesnt bother me at all. Some people will say I am picky cause I dont eat meat and I cannot stand mushrroms or olives.
(oh yea I laugh cause one of them is someone who will not eat veggies at all)

my kids are the same as me.
sometimes it can bug me like when dd had a friend that would only eat straight macaroni and cheese not curly but I got used to it plus youngest dd has a friend that has sensory issues and she is picky but I think it has more to do with the fact of her sensory issues.

The only seafood I eat are shrimp, lobster, crab, salmon, tunafish, and clam chowder soup. I must admit that if I'm eating lobster or crab, I have to tell myself it's not a giant sea spider.

I'm fine w/ food touching, but I don't like hot and cold food touching. At a picnic or restaurant buffet, I get 2 plates. Put cold salads on one & hot food on the other. Nothing nastier than hot baked beans getting my cole slaw or macaroni salad.

I don't think it is a big deal as long as the person doesn't make a big deal of it. If I went somewhere where sea food was served, I would just eat the side dishes and that would be it. If there was nothing else, I would just not eat and eat after I left. No biggie.
I do the same thing or also I will eat something before I go if I know there will not be much for me to eat or I am not sure so that I am not going to be too hungry to me is shows respect to not make a big deal of it (tho if they are grilling I will ask politely for a plain bun and get some cheese and toppings and makea sandwihc (well that is if they have it )

this bugs my husband to death at work. They will go to California Pizza Kitchen and his coworkers will order pepperoni pizza Or else they always get Italian food. They work where there is a big variety of restaurants, but people are so picky they only eat at a few of them.

only extremely picky people bug me. And I think that if you're going to be picky you can make your own food.
