make turtles, caramel apples and caramel cake/icing?

I stocked up on caramels after the holidays when I found them super cheap thinking I'd make a lot of turtles. Shortly after that, DH was told "no chocolate" by the doctor. So, now I need ideas for using caramels! Any suggestions?

I was going to suggest Turtle Pie but it has chocolate in it to but is sooooo good!

Oh too bad no chocolate because I have a WONDERFUL recipe for Choco-caramel brownies. I'll have to look through my cookbooks for you when I look for that recipe to post separately.

What about melting and pouring over icecream

Caramel Balls

20 Kraft caramels
2 tbsp cream
1 tsp butter
1 ½ cup corn flakes
¾ cup coconut

Melt caramels, cream and butter. Mix in corn flakes and coconut. Form into balls and place on wax paper.


My MIL makes these every Christmas. Mmm...

You can melt them and pour over a cook cool yellow or white cake.

Mince up a small handfull and toss in an apple pie.

You can dip peanut butter balls in them. YUMMY!!

Put one in front of a marshmallow on a stick and roast slowly. Then pull the marshmallow over the caramel and eat!
