Here goes - Last month grocery total spent $725
so far this month grocery total spent $625
While I am beginning to stockpile and I did stock my freezer with meat during this month that still looks like a lotta $$$ for groceries.
Most of the time it is just DH and myself. I always cook enough for lunch the next day though so we don't have to eat out.
Ireally had no idea I was spending this much

Welcome to the grocery budget challenge and to Mommysavers!!
Don't be embarrassed. You've taken the first step and now are aware of what you are spending!!
I've been there too. The first time I checked our expenditures, we were at $725 a month. The next month, being more aware, we got down to $625. That's still too much and we're working hard to get it down closer to $500 a month. Keeping track of how much, and on what, you are spending will help you get your monthly grocery budget down to where you want to be. That's how you learn your pitfalls.
I've found that I'm spending more $$ than I want on "junky" stuff. I wasn't aware of it, but now that I'm taking the time to list everything, I see my pattern.
I think that's great that you are making enough for meals to enable you to have leftovers the next day!! That's saving a lot of $$$.
Welcome again and looking forward to seeing how you do!!
