I nuke them in a plastic bag.. it keeps them from drying out. just wash, poke and put in plastic shopping bag with the top folded under

No one here but me likes baked potatoes much. Only time I can get anyone to eat them is when we have stuffed potatoes (butter, cheese, hamburger, steamed brocolli, etc.) so I just nuke them. I always forget about doing the kosher salt and baking them. I will have to try that.

I do mine in the crock pot way to hot to use the oven . Prick potatoess with fork. Wrap them in foil. Fill Crock-Pot with 6 to 12 potatoes. Cover. Go away. Cook on Low 8 to 10 hours (High: 2 1/2 to 4 hours].

No , you dont have to add water .

I usually don't have to time to cook them entirely in the oven so I microwave them until they are almost done, rub them with olive oil and kosher salt, and then put them in the oven for about 10 minutes.

I just wash them and prick them and put them in the oven. I don't use foil. They come out nice and crumbly, fluffy on the inside. I read somewhere a long time ago that they'll steam more in the foil and not be as crumbly.

We usually put them in the microwave just to save time and to not heat up the oven if it's summer. BUT, we have started putting them in the microwave for a few minutes, then splitting them open, putting butter and onions inside and then foil them and put them on the grill. YUMMMY!
