Just got a call that company is coming over and wants to take us to dinner. Usually no big deal. But I already defrosted some chicken breasts and made them into chicken strips-breaded and in the fridge. They are not cooked yet. Normally I would just save them for tomorrows dinner, but we are going out of town for three days. Cant leave them in the fridge. Probably cant refreeze them. So do I cook them and than freeze??? HELP! All together it is six chicken breasts so I do not want them to go to waste.

Cook them and then freeze. They would be like regular leftovers and I always toss those in the freezer. None of us have died yet!

I say cook and refreeze. They will make a good quick meal another day!

cook and refreeze - I do this a lot when I do monthly cooking. Make sure you seal the bag tight - you can even wrap in foil first.

Thanks so much!! I have froze cooked meat before, but never homemade chicken strips. I was worried that they might reheat and be gross or something.

OH! And we ended up meeting for dinner at Burger King. Yuck! I would have way rather eaten at home. Especially since I still have to cook the chicken still. Oh well.

They took you to Burger King! Oh dear! I would rather have had your chicken strips as well.

Update: Froze these like suggested and defrosted them yesterday. I was still a little worried that they would come out nasty, but they taste just as good as the day they were cooked. Just in case anyone else wonders about how they will turn out if they do the same thing.

Thanks for the update.
I still can't believe they took you to Burger King! I would never invite people out to dinner and then take them to a fast food place.
