Ok so my fiance goes to his storage building the other day to begin cleaning it out (we are trying to slash the cost of it from the budget). He comes home with several Pampered Chef stoneware's still brand new in the box. There are 2 casserole type things and then a deep dish round one.

Now, I am sure this is a good find, but just not sure how. Do any of you use stoneware and what do you use it for? Cooking, I know, but are they better for any thing specific? The washing instructions are specific - do not use any sort of soap on them, just wash out with water and use the little spatula thingy that came with it.

Thanks, Shandra.

I have several that I use for biscuits, rolls, cookies, pizza, bread etc...

I don't cook meat on mine for the simple fact that you can only wash them with water and baking soda.

I did cook a pasta dish in one once, but the sauce stain in and it looked horrible. Taste good and clean up alright but looks horrible.

The stoneware absorbs stuff like a sponge, so that is why you have to be extra careful. Also certain things like garlic can get onto the other foods that are cooked on it.

I have a 9x13 cookie-sheet type pan and a loaf pan that are Pampered Chef stoneware and I love, love, love them. The trick is the first thing or two you cook should be "greasy"-ie-meatloaf, meatball, etc.. so that the pan becomes "seasoned". I cook meatloafs, breads, and casseroles in the loaf pan and do cookies, baked chicken, ribs on the 9x13. You use it just like any other pan. The great thing (for me at least) is that NOTHING sticks to it and it is practically impossible to burn anything! Everything just cooks even and browns nicely...never burnt. Give it a shot...you'll either love it or hate it. And that is quite the find! They can get quite pricey! If you don't want them, ask around...I'm sure you can find someone who would love them!

I don't have any of the casserole type stone ware things, but two have two of the baking stones that are flat. I also LOVE mine. Yes, they do get stained and look ugly, but I can just scrape off residue and rinse them off with water and they're good to go again. I LOVE them.

a better question for me would be what don't you bake in yours...

I love it..

I have the mini bar pan that I use daily.. chicken nuggets, rolls, fish stix

I have the mini bread loaf pan.. LOVE IT.. makes smaller loaves for my kids

The square stone.. you can make so much on it.. cookies, pizza, french fries

the mini baker.. great for hot dips and appatizer type stuff

The cassaroll bowl and lid... whole chickens are great in that thing

If they are new you could sell them on ebay.. they get good money on there for them..

I think I have what you are talking about and NEVER used it. See if their website has some recipes, as I think I got some with it. It's good stuff, it was just a little overambitious for me.

I had the pizza stone and the 8x8 casserole square dish. The pizza stone I loved and the 8x8 casserole dish was horrible looking after one use and it got worse from there. You can not use dish soap on them.If your only cooking for your family it isn't so bad but cooking and having company over after using them you do not want to pull them out in front of them. They get all black and icky looking.I ended up getting rid of mine.
