Does your dh cook the nights you work or do you make dinner ahead of time for him to heat up later? Do you buy convenience foods for those nights? Use the crockpot?

I am going to be working evenings soon and I'm trying to figure out what to do for the kids for dinner. I'll be leaving before dinner time so cooking right before I go is not an option. Just wondering what others do.

Look in the crock pot section......there's lots of great recipes there.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm working evenings now and trying to get dinner together. I could leave it for my husband ... but we won't be saving any money if I do that for long. Any thoughts from someone with experience?

I dont know if I would say that I have it down pat, but I try. I use my crock pot alot. My dh is not a good cooker. He can boil noodles or make very easy boxed meals and that is it. When I got my sandwich maker, I had him in mind since the last time he made grilled cheese sandwiches for him and the kids, he cremated them in the pan on the stove and it took me a whole night of soaking my pan to get the burnt food off. Also anything that he can just toss in the oven works great too! I make all sorts of casseroles ahead of time and than all he has to do is heat them up, open a bag of salad or veggies and dinner is ready. He does cook up things like frozen pizzas or corndogs too for dinner, which once in a while isnt bad. My best advice is take a good look at the freezer section and crock pot section here and see what you can find.

I work from noon to 8 every day. I eat just like you would if it was 5, just I'm a couple hours behind. I usually get home and start supper and eat about 9.
