I was searching for ideas for leftover steak because we brought a bunch home from the in-laws. I like the idea of fajitas but wondering if anyone has thoughts on adding some flavoring to the meat before or during reheating (i.e. cumin, chili powder, etc.). How can I reheat it without it being extremely well done and dry?

I have done this with pork steaks and it turned out fine. What I did is put a little water (about 1/4 a cup, maybe more depending on what you think, you judge it really), add the spices you want into the water and make a mixture, cut up the steak into pieces so it's easier to heat through and throw with the mixture into skillet or pan. Turn the heat up and flash-cook it.

Yum!!! There is nothing better than a leftover steak sandwich. They are great cold. All you need is mayo and a little salt. MMMMM

I would let the meat come to almost room temp and then put a little oil in the pan and heat through quickly. If the meat is already well-done and your worried about dryness; I would cook it with a little salsa to add some moisture back.

What about a steak scramble?

I would add a bit of water, the spices and wrap them in foil. Heat in the oven. The water will keep them from drying out.
