I've been doing some heavy duty cleaning today and found two bags of pecan halves in my freezer. I'm thinking that their from last Christmas. Do you think I could still use them? They have to be at least 8 or 9 months old. I know when in doubt throw them out- but pecans are expensive and I hate to waste.

No, don't throw them out!

I buy about 10 bags at Thanksgiving from my credit union. I freeze them and use them all year. I used some out of my freezer for brownies just this past weekend.

They will be fine.

Try one and you will find out quickly if they are bad or not. Let it defrost before you eat it so you really know how it will taste.
