Sometimes I just don't feel like cooking. I like to eat out on those nights. We are learning to like cereal or sandwiches on those nights. It is just to hot here to turn the oven on and I would have had to give some thought to have something in the crock pot ready to eat.

What do you do on those nights?

We eat pasta or egg sandwiches those nights. Some times we will be horribly unhealthy and just eat Rice a Roni, nothing else with it.

My motto is your total food throughout the day needs the be balanced, not every single meal.

My latest find for these kind of days is frozen waffles or French Toast. ( This helps me get rid of the bread)

or ask DH to make Hot Dogs in the grill.

We frequently eat leftovers or sandwiches if we don't feel like cooking. Occassionally we order pizza!

we have really gotten better with this. I am ok planning my meals ahead. DH works a few nights a week so I always plan ahead. DH never knows what he feels like having ahead of time(which is annoying) He usually eats cereal when noone feels like cooking and I usuallly pull leftovers out of the freezer. In the winter it is easier, bc I don't mind making grilled cheese or pasta at the last minute, but sometimes it is more difficult with the heat in the summer.

I just keep in mind that one night out to dinner is equal to a weeks worth of groceries and that helps!

On those rare times, we will use up the leftovers, eat sandwiches or do breakfast items that are premade.

We'll have canned soup or chili with a side salad or some sliced fruit. Leftovers, if we have any. Or, I announce that it's every person for him/herself (as long as a fruit and/or vegetable is included), and my kids actually like those nights. They usually end up cooking something! lol DD is 11 years old.

I just have dh cook if I don't feel like it. He can grill something or he has a few meals inside he likes to make.

That is usually frozen pizza night for us. Or mac and cheese. I use the microwave for the Mac and cheese so I don't even have to watch the pot boil. Then I go on mommysavers until it dings!
