I did drink it when I grew up, but don't get it for my kids. It is just sugar and artificial colors/flavors. They usually just get milk & water and sometimes 100% juice. If we want a juice drink like that, we will make lemonade from scratch (it isn't that hard, and DS loves to help juice the lemons). We made strawberry lemonade for the 4th of July, and it was great!

It is a special occation treat (like going to a picnic/zoo) when we pack a lunch and go somewhere as a family. I mix it into the big travel cooler and it is easy to serve. I do ONLY buy the non colored varieties, both because I hate laundry and because I hate artificial coloring.

I Don't Think I Have ever Bought the Little packs that you have to add Sugar to.

When We bought kool- aid We always Have Bought the canisters you measure out And Mix with water - and I Always Have added a little Bit more water.
And When I Bought them I Would Get them On Sale 2/3.00 or BOGO

We also Have Bought the Kool - aid Juice boxes too.

I buy the Koolaid singles to take to work. It's easier being able to open that, then try to measure out some and try to not get the granules all over my desk when pouring it into a water bottle.

At home we never drink Kool Aid. We always either drink water, frozen lemonade or bf drinks milk. Sometimes we'll have other frozen juices or we'll drink coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

I grew up on Kool-aid, it wasnt something we got all the time. Usually just in the summer. I probably only make it about 5 times a year and I only use 1/4 cup sugar. No one knows I am cheating them out of sugar and it still takes good.

That sounds horrible ...! I bet it was the red dye

All the people who make the crystal light for their kids- does it have Aspartame? I was always under the impression that the Phenylkenonurics were really bad for you - and for little kids brains that still might be developing? I would never give my kids diet soda because of that- they dont drink much soda anyway but needless NEVER diet soda cause of those chemicals- i would rather they had the sugar in the soda once in a while...

I had generic kool aid when I was a kid. If we were lucky, mom put sugar in it.

I don't like it and don't think it is a healthy choice. It is better than soda though.

I make brewed sweet tea. Lilly & I usually drink 1-2 glasses per day. When dh is home all day he will drink the entire pitcher. Work days he only drinks 1-2 glasses.

We drink it at our house. I just don't put that much sugar in it or I use a sweetener instead of sugar.

Koolaid isn't much different than drinking pop or iced tea or lemonade with sugar/sweetener in it.

I don't have a problem with it.

Always had it as a kid and loved it. Haven't really bought it much for my children in awhile. They suck it down. If I do buy it now, I stick to the lemonade flavor, so there is no red dye. I don't buy juice much either. There is no fiber in juice. I would rather my kids eat fruit, and drink a little koolaid ocassionally. You can control the sugar in it. Mainly I want them to drink water. My son is 16, though, so he can buy his own pop, and so does hubby. I try to keep pop as a special treat. If the kids goes somewhere and have it I don't stress. If someone gives them a diet drink, I also don't stress. A little wont hurt. But I never buy anything sugar free for home. I think all artificial sweetners are bad.
I have heard that stevia is good, but the government says it is not.
