Question I bought fresh dill and basil

today, and I have no idea what to use it on! lol

the dill smells wonderful, remberence of my child hood and g-ma making dill pickles

I was thinking that on a roast??


but what about the basil

Dill works really well with cucumbers, which are in season right now, so great combo. Cucumbers and dill and yogurt, for example...

Basil--all kinds of things. Probably the simplest idea is just to make fresh pesto with it and use that on pasta or pizza, or even freeze it in ice cube trays for later. (You pop it out of the trays and put the cubes in a plastic bag.)

Honey Pasta


In skillet, sautee finely diced onions & garlic and fresh basil in olive oil...

add that to cooked, still warm angel hair or spegetti noodles..

toss together, drizzle with honey... more if you want it sweeter, less if you just want the hint of flavor..


This is a recipe that a friend brought to a potluck.. very good.. It quickly became a family favorite...
