We butcher meat every year and package it.

We will do about 2 decent sized handfuls of ground meat (I like larger sizes for making enought for leftovers etc) and wrap in plastic. Then wrap and tape in butcher paper. Our meat generally lasts us at least a year and no freezer burn.

I wrap in freezer paper, label, then drop the bags into a gallon sized freezer bag. Depending on the size, I can usually fit at least 2 packages of whatever it is I'm freezing into a freezer bag.

I wrap it tightly in saran wrap, then in foil. Have never had freezer burn.
