I love mine too I have a Pampered Chef one and you can make a wicked yummy cake in the microwave in 9 minutes! I use mine to make mashed potatoes, rice, heat soup & veggies through. And when I'm done, I toss it in the dishwasher (though it's plastic and wipes clean like a breeze).

We love our rice cooker! DH bought it 2 years ago for making sushi rice (he hasn't tried to make sushi yet though, he just loves a bowl of sushi rice!) and we use it all of the time! Easy to set & forget so I can pay attention to other dishes, and it frees up pots and stove space! I also sometimes use the tray that fits over the rice to steam veggies while the rice is cooking. I think it was a great investment!

oh, I should also add that I am a pro at ruining rice when I make it on the stovetop! I used to buy the boil-in-bag rice but it was expensive.

I love my rice cooker/steamer. I've never had much luck cooking rice the normal way and I can't stomach Minute Rice. With the rice cooker, perfect rice every time. I can also use it to steam vegetables. Wouldn't be without it.

Jose'.
