When I make bread, I use my KitchenAid also. You do lose the convenience of the machine doing all the baking for you, but to me the versatility you gain from the mixer is worth it -- especially if you plan to just make dough in the bread machine and then shape it yourself for rolls or pizza crust, etc. Just my opinion!

I make bread without a bread machine also...b/c I don't have a machine. I would love to have a Kitchen Aid and/or a bread machine. DH loves it!
