We really only use butter. I use the kirland brand from costco just because it's less expensive than even the store brand.

I can't believe it's not butter light. I prefer real butter but the fat kills me. I also can't stop at a little I LOVE butter.

I use real unsalted butter for baking - generally just whatever is cheapest the day I'm at the store. My husband also must have the real butter when he makes his chicken wings.

My doctor recommended Smart Balance for us when my cholesterol was starting to go up (it wasn't really high but it was going up for me so we wanted to catch it early). We use that for pretty much everything other than baking.

I use salted butter (doesn't matter the brand, whatever is on sale) for pretty much everything, I don't like the taste of margarine. If I'm planning on doing a lot of baking (besides shortbread cookies, they need real butter) I buy the store brand margarine from Real Canadian Superstore. It's usually on sale for .99 cents a tub. I use margarine in baking cause you can't taste the difference because the margarine taste is overpowered.

I tried Our Family spread, YUCK!!!! I was actually going to post this same thing. I have just started using margerine to save a little $$.

But as far as butter, my former milk man told me, that his off brand and most others made in the midwest ARE LOL. They just change the wrapper. I have done a taste test and cant tell. Also the stuff at aldi has the same wrapper.

Land o -Lakes at ALDI??????

we use country crock for everything. my MIL is allergic to benz- preservatives and so often if I'm makig something, i send some next door to them, so we just started using what she could eat. we used to use blue bonnet, and were happy with that. with price hikes, at $1.50/pkg for country crock, i'm going to start keeping CC on hand for baking and use blue bonnet for everything else!
