yes..making it later this week in fact. ( and yes it does freeze well too).

beef barley soup.
1 1/2 lbs stewing beef, trimmed and cut up
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped onions
5 cloves garlic cut up( we love garlic, can use less)
7 cups water
4 tsp. beef boullion powder
1 14oz. can diced tomatoes WITH juice
2/3 cup pearl barley
1 1/2 tsp. marjoram
3/4 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/3 ts. parsley

put all in crockpot on low.

(instead of stewing beef i use leftover roast beef)

Thank you for this recipe. I had bought a packaged mix called beefed up barley soup and I actually made this for dinner last night. It was awesome. I froze half of it, so I am glad to hear it freezes well. I will be trying the recipe out soon.
