$200 again this month with $25 for stockpile. I still need to add my totals for last month, I don't think I went too far over.

Ok, I did NOT do good last month. This month I am really challenging myself. We have a weekend getaway planned, and I am not including the eating out totals in this. I am going to say $400 for groceries, toiletries, HBA and eating out. This will be a major challenge for me!

That's about what our was last month too. I would be happy to get down to $450 or $500 every month.

I am new to the forum, too, and the grocery budget is our biggest challenge. There's DH, me, our preschooler, and our toddler. This time last year, we were spending about $450 (sometimes more) per month on groceries. This month, I am budgeting $320 for regular groceries (I don't include cleaning or toiletries - just food!) and $50 at Sams (ground beef, chicken, peanut butter, frozen veggies, granola bars, and fruit). I love the idea of being accountable to someone (besides DH) for what I spend!

Ok I am going to try the challenge again and I am going to do it this month. I am setting $400--for the grocery budget with $100 to make meals ahead and freeze them (we need two weeks worth of lunches and dinners for the three us) so it is $500 I suppose but next month we will only need $300 if this works---Here's to hopeing

I did really good in September, esp since it was my first challenge. However, my fridge and cabinets have been depleted, so I need to start stocking-up. So, I'm going to raise my budget to $500 to accomodate the additional week in this month and a little wiggle room for stocking reasons. So excited, love this site!

I'm in for this month. I budgeted $250 for Sept. but spned $280. Dh says groceries come first (and I agree) but when the next thing to cut is cable, I don't think he'd be on board. So I'm gonna try to stick to $250 this month. Good sale this wk. at fareway so I'll get what I can there and try to stay away from Walmart (too much else to buy lol).
