Dh bought this scrapbooking software for me for Christmas in 2005...and I had used it tons for fonts, printing titles, etc....but never for scrapbooking. LOL So I did this page today as I'm getting more and more curious about digital scrapping. I don't think it'll be my first love as I like all of the STUFF and the MESS...LOL And my program is older so it doesn't have all of the embellishments and stuff I'd like for it to have, but here's my first attempt with it.

Stacey, I think the thing is, I know there's no chance in Hades that I'm ever going to be able to hands on scrap all that I want to....I just have too many things I want to do...individual albums for each child, a family album, our wedding album, etc. However, if I do an entire family album in 8x8 on the computer, I can save them and have as many copies printed off as I want...which means I can print an album for every child to take with them when they move out and it cuts down on me having to make sure I scrap individual family albums for each of them.
This would actually be a good way for me to do a BOM too, though...a BOM page is what I had in mind when I did this one.

martha, I have the Scrapbook Factory and I love it--I don't have the time to really do all the cutting and stuff--I have lots of cute pages done --not sure how to post them, do you scan and then post . With my pics I send them to photobucket and get a code, thats the only way I know . Is there an easier way to do it? I have alot saved on here I haven't even got to print yet. Ink is low!

THat is great! I am really curious about digital as well but I like the hands on as well. But digital looks much cleaner sometimes.

Great layout! I'm with you - I love the hands on, but I also love the ease of the digital.

For those people thinking about digital - that doesn't mean you have to give up traditional paper scrapping! I really enjoy digital layouts becuase I can use and reuse all those expensive embellishments that I am less apt to buy and use once in paper format.

Right, Amy! And if I do a gift album, I don't have to give away all of my fun embellishments! LOL

meghannsnanny...In my scrapbooking software, I just save the page as a jpg (it gives me that option under File: Export as... and I choose jpg) and then send it to photobucket. I don't have a photo quality printer, so I'll end up saving my pages to a disk and having them printed at Kinko's or somewhere like that.

Martha I looks WONDERFUL! I so love the pictures you take!

Good point on the family album thing. Making just one on the computer and then printing multiple copies. That would be great for Christmas gifts too for family in other states. Hmmmm.....now you got me thinking
