ICK!
My neighbor had us over for dinner a few months ago and served BOCA burgers. That is the first time I had ever had one. The after taste lasted HOURS in my mouth and it was nasty (even post teeth brushing)

What is it that is in them that makes them taste SO BADLY?

I am not sure what it could be that is in them but I only like the Grilled flavor ones. They don't leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I really like boca burgers, especially the "all american" grilled flavor, it has a little cheese in it. I find that they need toppings as they are bland. I like avocado, tomato and grilled onions.
I eat a lot of soy products like that. Breakfast sandwiches made with sot sausage, chickenless chicken patties, soy crumbles, and my favorite Soyrizo mmmm mmmmm! I think you just have to get used to it.

BOca Brand I do not care for! I do really like the Morning star farms ones tho!!! they have Black Bean one that is my fave!!!

I have no idea!!! I actually LIKE boca burgers. Maybe it was something to do with how they prepared them?!?!?

Since we're talking about boca burgers, I have to share something odd...
The first time I had one when they first came out, they tasted like Salisbury Steak to me, the frozen dinner kind I loved when I was a kid. Turns out, that's pretty accurate! I read into it and when I was a kid (I'm dating myself), many "meats" in frozen dinners were pumped full of soy to make it cheaper. There wasn't the same awareness there is now about 100% beef products.
Next time you try one, try to imagine it with gravy on top and grainy mashed potatoes on the side with corn and that chewy brownie in the middle that always burnt your mouth. Weird, huh? Takes me back....

Those Morningstar Farms black bean ones are awesome. We also love the "Gardenburger" original ones. They don't try to taste like meat. They are delish and my kids eat them up. I don't care for the boca brand either, but we do eat lots of soy products. There are some really great ones out there.

I like the Morningstar Farms Grillers Prime. I like to cook them up and eat them with A-1! I do not like any of these soy burgers microwaved. To me, they taste soggy and gross. I thaw them out and then quickly cook them in the oven. Much better that way to me!

I have had garden burgers and do prefer them, yum! I can't remember which ones it was that I had. I remember lots of spices!

I personally prefer Jenny O's SEASONED turkey burgers....yummy!

I prefer Garden Burger, myself.
