I am not a big breakfast person, but really need to start having SOMETHING in the morning before I exercise. I read in another post that someone makes smoothies and puts protein powder in. I have also heard that protein can help aid in weight loss??
So, what kind do you all use? Or should I just skip it and try and eat/drink something else? If I do need to eat something, I would prefer it to be small just because I don't have an appetite in the morning.

TIA!

I use EAS whey protein. It comes in vanilla & chocolate flavors. I put it with my oatmeal, my cereal, smoothies & yogurt!

Target, Wal-Mart - most grocery stores, health food stores. And ebay -- there is a "store" on ebay called Supplemental Central - that is where I got my last shipment of 5lbs (which turns out to be cheaper). Let me know how you make out

Will do. Thanks for the suggestions.
Have you noticed that it helps with more energy and weight loss? Does it fill you up more? I don't eat breakfast and end up eating a late lunch and after I have had lunch I just want to keep eating... It's terrible.

It helps fill me up more. Protein is a great source to also help rebuild your muscles. I bet you will see a change because you are not eating breakfast. That slows your metabolism right down. Try to eat every 2-3 hours. So if you start with a protein smoothie, then say like 2 hours later eat something small, then your lunch, then like 2 hours later another small snack, then dinner.

There are so many variations you can make with smoothies too. ENjoy!

We use a type of protein powder made by Designer Whey that doesn't have any artificial sweeteners in it ("natural" flavor). We used to use the EAS Vanilla (which is really good) until I realized that it (and just about everything else) had acesulfame potassium in it. We found the natural stuff at Vitamin Shoppe. It's pretty expensive and kind of gross tasting (I add a little bit of honey to my protein shakes when I make them and that helps a lot) but worth it in my opinion.

Personally, I think that the protein shakes aren't very filling at all. In fact, I usually have to eat something else with mine or I'm really hungry again fairly quickly. But that's just me. We make ours with milk, water, a little bit of vanilla and honey, bananas, frozen strawberries, and either frozen blueberries or frozen orange juice concentrate (depending on whether we're making "blue" or "orange" protein as the kids call it).
